Explore Our Botanical Extracts

Botanical Extracts VS Essential Oils

It is very important to distinguish our in-house Botanical Extracts from essential oils.

Botancial Extracts

  • Unlike essential oils, botanical extracts contain a wide range of phytonutients, including vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other beneficial compounds.
  • Made from dried or fresh plant material using methodical natural extraction processes (typically with water, glycerine, honey, alcohol or oil)
  • Require much less plant material to create then essential oils and are a more ethical and responsible way to honour plants, in our opinion.

    Essential oils (EO's)

  • Essential Oils do NOT contain nutrients (no vitamins, minerals, proteins, enzymes etc).
  • EO's are volatile compounds, this is what gives them their lovely aromatherapy scent.
  • EO's are typically made from steam distillation and require large amounts of plant material to create.
  • We add EO's mindfully to Herbal Hair Healer at less then 0.5% of the formulation for a subtle, refreshing aromatherapy aroma and antimicrobial properties.

Apply directly to the scalp and though the length of your hair all the way to the ends.

Massage the oil in for a minute like your hairdresser would :) This stimulates the scalp and helps the ingredients soak in.

Apply and leave in overnight or apply and cover hair with a warm towel & leave in at least 30 minutes before washing.

How To Use

1. Shake well.

2. Once a week, apply directly to the scalp. This works really well with the dropper, just run it right over the scalp while squeezing out a bit of oil as you go.

3. When you have covered the whole scalp massage it in for a minute...think like your hairdresser would when they massage in your conditioner, mmm :) This stimulate and invigorates the scalp and helps
the ingredients soak in.

4. Run a few drops though the length of your hair and also add a bit onto the ends.

5. We recommend leaving this treatment in overnight and washing it out in the morning (make sure you put a towel over your pillow to prevent staining your pillow) and then give your hair a double wash to make sure you get all the oil residue out.

OR...Another option is to apply the treatment, cover your hair with a
warm towel and leave it on at least 30 minutes before washing out.
